Chris Barrable

Chris and Ann met in 2001, when Chris was running a weekend for his home club Portchester. Chris has been playing bridge since about 1965. He was in the Fleet Air Arm at the time, and used to play bridge in the crew room, between sorties.
Ann has retired from teaching History at one of the local schools. Her interests include her grandchildren (there are three), bridge, gardening (they have a well positioned and landscaped garden, on the hill, overlooking Portsmouth Harbour and the IOW), cooking and practical philosophy. Now that her teaching career is over, she can really enjoy cruising to historical destinations without the spectre of a new term looming up.
Chris worked in the computing world. His first computing career was with IBM for 25 years, then for the Nat West and the Royal Bank of Scotland. In the last few years Chris would travel every day to the City, and back at night, and was on a 24-hour call. So having now retired the chance to work for Mr Bridge was a prize to be cherished. His interests include computing, bridge, picture framing, DIY, the grandchildren, classical music and cooking (especially Chinese style). He is a Director with the EBU and a fully qualified Bridge Teacher.
Chris and Ann have travelled to Norway, Iceland, the Baltic, Most of Europe, Greece, Turkey, The Middle East, Africa, The Far East, Australia, North America, and Canada. Chris's favourite locations are St Petersburg, Egypt and Greece and Ann's favourite destination is Russia and the Baltic.
